Myanmar released the first MEITI report about the extractive sector on January after becoming the candidate country. Myanmar is now on the process of publishing the second and third MEITI reports and will proceed for validation after those reports have been published.

Myanmar had to prepare in advance for validation according to the EITI standard. Hence this pre-validation workshop was held on January 30, 2018 at Horizon Lake View Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw. In this workshop, the EITI International Secretariat explained and exercised to prepare in advance for coming validation. All participants actively asked the question and discussed in detail about validation.
