Myanmar EITI Report Launch (2014-15 and 2015-16 fiscal years) was held on 19th November, 2018 at Sule-Shangri-la Hotel in Yangon.
Deputy Minister of Ministry of Planning and Finance or Multi-Stakeholder Group Chairman H.E. U Maung Maung Win and Multi-Stakeholder Group Members, Subcommittee Members and Sub-national Coordination Units Members, Government Officials of Ministry of Planning and Finance, Ministry of Electricity and Power and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Officials of DFID, DFAT and World Bank Myanmar, Executive Director Mr. Eddie Rich from International EITI Secretariat, Representatives from Private Companies, MEITI National Coordination Secretariat and Officials and other observers were joined the event.
In report launch event, Firstly, Deputy Minister or Chairman of Myanamar EITI Multi-stakeholder Group gave an opening remarks for the event. And then Mr. Thomas Coward, Senior Economist & Inclusive Growth Team Leader from Department for International Development (DFID) Myanmar gave greeting notes for Myanmar EITI process. Then, International EITI Executive Director (Acting) Mr. Eddie Rich gave a speech for Myanmar EITI. Next, Myanmar EITI National Coordinator U Soe Win also gave brief explanation on Myanmar EITI reporting process and feliciations to Myanmar EITI process related stakeholders.
In explanation of Findings of Reports, U Kyaw Thet, Deputy Director General of Department of Mining from Mininstry of Natural Resoruces and Environmental Conservation, U Than Htay Aung, Advisor of Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise from Ministry of Electricity and Power, U Min Thu, General Manager of Myanmar Gems Enterprise from Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation explained mining sector, Oil and Gas sector and Gems and Jade sector respectively. Finally Daw Moe Moe Tun from Myanmar Alliance, Transparency and Accountability presented recommendations of Myanmar EITI Reports and his suggesions on recommendations.
