Two-day Capacity Building Training for the Beneficial Ownership Task Force held

The two-day capacity building training for Beneficial Ownership Task Force was held in Sule Shangri-la Hotel, Yangon on September 27-28, 2018. The training was conducted by Beneficial Ownership Consultant Dr. Juliana from Adam Smith International. The Beneficial Ownership Task Force and their alternates, MOBD, NCS and other observers attended this training.

 

On the first day of the training, Dr. Juliana started by sharing the purposes for the training. Then, the Myanmar EITI process and the introduction to beneficial ownership, the international approaches to beneficial ownership, the national priorities and the beneficial ownership requirement for Myanmar, current Beneficial Ownership implementation were presented by Dr. Juliana and representatives from NCS, Beneficial Ownership Task Force members, NRGI and MATA. Group discussion exercises were followed.

On the second day, the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the beneficial ownership task force, finalization of the draft Beneficial Ownership Task Force Work Plan, training summary and group discussion on policy related decisions for the Beneficial Ownership Task Force were presented and discussed. At the end of the training, the trainer awarded certificates to the Beneficial Ownership Task Force.
