EITI in Myanmar - October 2014

The international Board of the EITI, the resource transparency standard, met in Naypyidaw, Myanmar on 14 and 15 October.



They discussed the progress with implementation of the EITI’s transparency requirements in the 46 countries that are currently implementing the EITI.



On 16 October the government of Myanmar is hosted a conference about the governance of Myanmar’s natural resources. The conference discuss progress with EITI implementation in Myanmar, reform of state-owned enterprises and natural resource funds.



Furthermore, the Board went on a field trip and several side events took place, such as the National coordinators' meeting.
